I’m a winter baby but winter and I just don’t agree. This past Saturday pushed the limits of our relationship. On Saturday I had some amazing plans with friends to go out to The Yards Park for the Ice Yards event. The weather forecast was sunny but highs of only 30 degrees so dressing warm was a top priority for me. I opted for my old American Eagle sweater which I continue to keep around because of the cute poked holes detail! I wanted to style the sweater a little differently than how I normally style it. I chose my Forever 21 fun printed blouse. I’m a big fan of mixing prints and trying out new things so I thought it would be great to pair with my Old Navy ankle anchor pants that I bought last spring. I’m glad that I was able to find another way to wear them this season! (To see how I styled them before, read my Monumental Style post).
I threw on my coat, my combat boots, my mittens, my hat (which I stole from my boyfriend for the day 🙂 ) and headed out to have some fun! My friends and I made it all the way to the Ice Yards event to find a line that wrapped around about three blocks. However, we faced the cold and stood in line only to be told the event had reached capacity.
We were disappointed but made the best of our day by warming up with Potbelly soup and headed to the mall. If you follow me on Instagram @djsstyle, you saw my post of the event describing my disappointment. The Yards DC was kind enough though to respond and assure that they’ve taken notes and will make up for it with their next event! I’m willing to give them another try and I’m definitely looking forward to the next one!
Let me know below what your plans were this past weekend and what you wore!
