Blogging is not an easy job it takes a combination of commitment, sacrifice, and a whole lot of passion. Second to my full-time job I’m spending most of my nights and weekends creating content, engaging on my social media platforms, doing photo shoots, and more. You can basically say that I’m usually booked and busy even after my 9 to 5 is over. But despite all of the major commitments that blogging entails, I’m in love with it. You might ask why. Well I enjoy showing other women how to live stylishly in everything they do, plus it’s taught me two major things that I want to share!
Ok, so I’m not saying that before I began blogging that I wasn’t confident but being a fashion blogger has taught me to be even MORE confident with myself. Like wearing all white boots for the first time! By the way I picked these up from Charlotte Russe during Black Friday for only $20 —– they still have amazing deals on their boots!
Never in a million years did I think I, Destiny, the girl voted “Most Quiet” in high school (yes, this actually happened) would ever be able to go out in public and take multiple pictures for a blog I created. But I am and I’m becoming more and more confident with myself after every photo shoot I finish. In fact, with this particular photo shoot I felt so bold and beautiful. When I feel this way it shows, and it makes my photo sessions so much easier which is reflected in my content.
I don’t know about you but things do not just come easy for me. Trust me, I wish they did. With the majority of my goals that I have accomplished it has always taken time to obtain which requires a level of patience. But man, you must have lots of patience as a blogger. Looking at other bloggers and comparing myself to others is a problem that I commit at times, and I know others do as well. But what we fail to look at when we admire others is how long their journey was. Looking at other bloggers’ journeys has taught me the importance of patience.
Trust me my blogging journey is long, and I most certainly have not attained the level of success that I want as fashion blogger yet. But my patience is a virtue, and with my ambition my time will come.
Ultimately, I’m so happy to be blogging and pursuing something that I love. I can’t wait for the opportunities that await for me in 2019, or the lessons I will learn. Blogging is helping me become a better person while helping/showing women how they can be their best stylish selves. I would call this a blessing! What do you think?
